The vision of Café au Play is to bring together diverse families and community members to foster overlapping communities of “regulars” that:

• Achieve a sustainable model: patron-directed • participant design and lead programs; collaborative • partnering with community organizations that support families; and self-funded • proceeds from the coffee bar fund operating expenses
• Support those who are most vulnerable
• Create an atmosphere that encourages appreciation for diversity
• Offer a self-determined, holistic alternative to client-based support services
• Change the way the public embraces the needs of families
• Promote a new design for integrating families into public spaces
