Tabor Commons Renovation Update – Feb. 2008
Interior designer, Charlotte Krayenbuhl of CGK Interiors, completed the coffeebar workspace design drawings. She worked closely with Peter Emerson of Bipartisan Cafe who has donated numerous hours consulting on layout. Opsis Architects and Isaac Harris finalized the interior and exterior designs of the existing building. GreenWorks created a landscaping plan that can be implemented after the removal of the buried tanks slated to begin in February. These plans are in the process of being permitted by the city of Portland so renovations of the existing building can begin. After the permits have been obtained, Traci Sullivan will come back for a second phase of electrical work. Then Gary Cameron will complete the HVAC work. Bryan Haberlach will begin work on plumbing the coffeebar area, and the Women in the Trades will come back with their student volunteers to begin interior construction. *We are still looking for a licensed plumber to oversee the plumbing updates.* Local contractor Leif Nelson of Meteor Building Co. will be overseeing all phases of the interior construction. A special thanks to all of the above professionals that are generously donating their time and expertise. And a special thanks to West Side Electric for donating the electrical permit fee and permitting the work for the electrical phase of the project.
